Who is Fidele Bolton?
Fidele Bolton was born in Rwanda in 1974, he grew up in a small village called Gasundwe,experiencing a safe family and village environment with his 7 brothers and sisters. Like every child in the surrounding villages he went to ‘Viro’ Primary School that is over an hour’s walk away. After primary education he went to secondary boarding School where he studied Biochemistry, and later to University (Kigali Institute of Science and Technology).
In 2002, Fidele moved to the United Kingdom where he attended Mattersey Hall Bible College and graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in theology and biblical studies from Bangor University (Wales). Soon after that he was ordained as a Minister with the British Assemblies of God and started working as a Pastor in the town of Rochdale in Manchester England. During his stay in England (2002-2012) Fidele was heavily involved in the community life of the town of Rochdale as an associate Pastor at Hebron Church in Rochdale (2006-2012).
As well as being on the leadership team of Rochdale Churches together (2008-2012), Fidele served as the Rochdale Town Centre Chaplain (2009-2010), and later as Chaplain at St Anne’s Academy, Manchester (2010-2012).
After a decade in England Fidele made his first visit to Gasundwe village. It was during this visit that he was moved and inspired to create the Rochdale to Rwanda project. At the end of 2011, Fidele moved to Canada for family/personal reasons and started putting together a team to create the Ottawa 2 Rwanda project.
Fidele currently resides in Ottawa with his wife Claire, and their young children.
